Description: Fast-paced and exciting four-movement work for trombones and percussion. The first movement is an orchestration of the song Sonnet: "Life's Arc" by Lukas Foss. The second is a double cannon played without piano or trombones. The third movement is a multi-layered atmospheric piece for trombone solo with multiple layers of bell sounds. The last movement is a variation on the original song.
First performed April 15, 2004 in Stude Concert Hall, Houston by Brian Vogel conducting the Shepherd School Percussion Ensemble & Novus (Michael Clayville, John Widmer, Michael Selover, Christopher Beaudry).
