Antiphonal Fanfare op. 10
for brass quartet or choirduration: ca. 2:30
Description: Although this fanfare may be performed in a traditional quartet seating arrangement, it is intended to be performed antiphonally. Each player should be in a corner of the performance space to form a square. Ideally, the two players at the back of the Hall should be in the balcony. The intent is to create a large audience-encompassing space. As long as the players are arranged consecutively 1 – 4 it does not matter in which corner player 1 stands. A conductor may be needed to execute the piece in this fashion.
Antiphonal Fanfare op. 10 was first performed by the
New England Conservatory Honors Trombone Quartet in Jordan Hall, Boston 1997.
James Nova, Philip Ostrander, Bron Wright, Stephen Cooley.
